Syed Abdul Rehman Khan, Professor

Biography: Syed Abdul Rehman Khan, CSCP is a professor of Supply Chain and Logistic Management. Prof. Khan achieved his CSCP—Certified Supply Chain Professional certificate in 2013. Dr. Khan has more than seven years’ core experience of supply chain and logistics at industry and academic levels. Prof. Khan has attended several international conferences in Dubai, Pakistan, Taiwan, and China, and has also been invited as guest speaker and conference committee member. He has published more than 10 research papers including ISTP, Scopus, SCIE, SCI, SSCI, and EI indexed in different well renowned international journals and conferences. He is a regular contributor to conferences and workshops around the world. Dr. Khan also holds Editorial Membership of four international journals.
In addition, Prof. Khan holds memberships in the following well renowned institutions and supply chain bodies/associations: APCIS-U.S.; Supply Chain Council U.S.; Supply Chain Association of Pakistan; USA Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals; and Global Supply Chain Council China.
Topic: Green logistics and Procurement in Supply Chain Management: Drivers and Barriers
Abstract: Based on the design ideology of balanced scorecard this article develops a scorecard to synthetically measure the performance of companies logistics and supply chain system from four aspects which are customers, finance, innermanaging flow and learning & development. The scorecard covers four aspects and has 22 measurement items. The four aspects are strategy and organization, planning and implementation capability, logistics efficiency and application of information technologies respectively. An extensive survey has been conducted in Chinese companies and 206 qualified questionnaires have been collected. The researcher have compared the performance difference of logistics and supply chain in state—owned companies, foreign—owned companies and private companies. The relationship between the four aspects is analyzed and a structural equation model is specified. The research results provide managerial insights for firms to understand and enhance their logistics and supply chain management.
